In 2023-2024, the Foundation held two direct mail campaigns. Thanks to your generosity and commitment to the cause, we raised a cumulative amount of 127 866 $. The funds raised during these campaigns will be used to finance various projects, including the enhancement of the surgical department at the Memphremagog Hospital.

The most recent Double DON – Desjardins matching donation campaign, held from November 15, 2023, to January 31, 2024, raised $67,740. During this fundraising drive, the Caisse Desjardins du Lac-Memphrémagog matched all donations received up to a total of $25,000.

On behalf of the Caisse Desjardins and its 34,000 members, I would like to thank all the donors who have contributed to making a real difference in the daily lives of the users of the Memphremagog Hospital and of those of the residents of Saint-Étienne-de-Bolton and its surrounding area. The leverage effect of Desjardins financial support has a major and direct impact on two structuring projects for our community. We are grateful to be able to help all these people thanks to our collective refund (Community Development Fund),” says Patrick Gravel, General Manager of Desjardins Caisse du Lac-Memphrémagog.

This amount will be used to fund two projects that will have concrete benefits for the population of the Memphremagog MRC.

  1. Purchase of a Shockwave Therapy Device

This shockwave therapy device would allow us to provide optimal care to all users with pathologies (calcified tendinopathy, plantar fasciitis, lateral epicondylitis, etc.) that the current equipment does not allow us to offer, while reducing the number of appointments for users. The more vulnerable clientele will have access to these treatments without having to pay for private treatments.

  1. Grand-Bois Meals on Wheels

The Grand-Bois Meals on Wheels project aims to offer a new service in the Saint-Étienne-de-Bolton area and its surroundings: the preparation and delivery of healthy and affordable meals to isolated individuals, those losing autonomy, and/or those experiencing poverty. It will contribute to improving the health conditions of the served population, breaking isolation, stimulating intergenerational solidarity, and strengthening the community’s collective capacities.

“We are proud to announce that we have reached our financial goal of raising $50,000, and as a result, two projects will be able to materialize and meet the various health needs of our entire community,” explains Lucie Brosseau, General Manager of the Memphremagog Hospital Foundation.

It’s now a tradition: the Grand tirage de la santé | Groupe Beaucage is back and will make the happiness of ten lucky people! In addition to inspiring thousands of participants with its exceptional prizes, this annual lottery of the CHUS Foundation allows the realization of various projects in hospitals in the region, thus improving the care offered to the entire Estrie population. Indeed, the funds raised are shared with ten other foundations in the region working in the health field.

This year, we celebrate the 25th anniversary of this well-known draw. For the occasion, two types of tickets are offered:

The regular ticket at $20, which gives you 3 chances to win one of the 10 grand prizes… Plus, you’ll get 12 discount coupons worth over $100 in total!

The special 25th ticket at $60, in limited quantity (there are only 5,000 tickets in circulation), which gives you 12 chances to win one of the grand prizes, plus a scratch zone that gives you a 1 in 10 chance of winning one of the many instant prizes, totaling a value of $25,000!

In addition to the draw, several local partners offer discount coupons worth over $100 in total, a great way to make the purchase of your ticket worthwhile!

Thanks to the solidarity of our donors, we processed over 800 donations in our latest direct mail campaign. Thanks to them, $97,510 was raised, surpassing our initial goal of $70,000. These funds will be invested in several projects aimed at maintaining and developing better health and social services for the well-being of the Memphremagog MRC community.

For the 2022-2023 year, our board of directors approved projects representing investments of over $1.9 million. Funding for these projects has led to the enhancement of equipment and care provided at the hospital, as well as the enhancement of services offered in the community.

The Foundation has collaborated on various projects, including the installation of an eco-friendly and fast device for disinfecting endocavitary probes, providing relaxing breaks for hospital employees through the RecharjMe cabin, and acquiring mobile and ergonomic bed showers for the comfort of palliative care patients.

The Memphremagog Hospital Foundation raised $5,292 at its first Holiday Market, presented by Brochu & Poirier CPA Inc., on December 2nd. Thirteen original and diverse businesses were present for the occasion. Hot beverages, provided by Café Hubert Saint-Jean, were distributed free of charge all day, and the real Santa Claus was present in the morning to delight both young and old.

A virtual reality project to help single mothers

The funds raised during this event will be invested in the Villa Pierrot’s virtual reality project. The organization aims to use virtual reality as an intervention and support tool for its residents, and to be a pioneer in a new approach in addressing various psychosocial issues.

Virtual reality is considered a tool for realism that helps manage reality better. The main objectives are to experiment with a new support and intervention tool; to address situations in a safe and controlled environment and context; and to address psychosocial issues experienced by residents. For nearly twelve years, Villa Pierrot has been working with single mothers. Experienced counselors support residents in various aspects of their lives as mothers, women, workers, students, and citizens.

Supported by the Desjardins du Lac-Memphrémagog, the Memphremagog Hospital Foundation is launching the Double Donation Desjardins campaign. Until January 31, 2024, the Caisse will match all donations received up to $25,000. The hospital foundation aims to raise $50,000, which will be dedicated to two projects.

This shockwave therapy device would allow us to provide optimal care to all users with pathologies that the current equipment does not allow us to offer, thereby reducing the number of appointments for users. Grand-Bois Meals on Wheels

The Grand-Bois Meals on Wheels project aims to offer a new service in the Saint-Étienne-de-Bolton area and surrounding areas; namely, the preparation and delivery of healthy and affordable meals to isolated individuals, those losing autonomy, and/or those in poverty. It will help improve the health conditions of the served population, break isolation, stimulate intergenerational solidarity, and strengthen the community’s collective capacities.

You Give, Desjardins Gives just as much!

Desjardins du Lac-Memphrémagog has long supported the health of its community by partnering with the fundraising activities of the Hospital Foundation. In fact, in 2024, the Caisse will reach the milestone of $1 million donated to the Foundation since its creation, in order to support meaningful projects that benefit the local community.

“At Desjardins, mutual aid and benevolence are part of our values. We are proud to perpetuate this commitment in our actions and involvements. The double donation campaign allows us to multiply our impact by matching each donation received,” said Patrick Gravel, General Manager of Desjardins du Lac-Memphrémagog.

The Foundation relies on the support of the population to take part in this movement of generosity, which begins with Desjardins dedication.

Thanks to a $26,731 grant from the Memphremagog Hospital Foundation, Accueil Notre-Dame was able to renovate 3 convalescent rooms with new beds and a transformed shower. These improvements allow l’Accueil to better meet the needs of individuals requiring convalescent care in a welcoming and warm environment.

The fourth edition of Projet F presented by the National Bank took place on October 18th at the Magog Theater. On this occasion, 175 women from all walks of life gathered to participate in this event. Hosted by Rainbow Drag, this colorful and festive evening raised a total of $53,538, with profits going to support youth projects.

Committed partners who are dedicated to the foundation’s mission

For the fourth consecutive year, the National Bank acted as the presenter of Projet F. The Foundation also received valuable support from Century 21 Estrie, Sandoz, and Kezber, who have been major partners of the event and have been involved since the beginning of Projet F in 2019.

5 exceptional women who reflect the foundation’s values

Beyond this festive evening, the Foundation recognized 5 truly inspiring women who make a difference in the community, regardless of their field of activity or occupation. Thanks to the region’s business community who were invited to indulge these women, the Foundation was able to invite them and a guest of their choice to the event free of charge. The Foundation would like to thank Amazone communications, J.C. Morin inc., and Cuisine Memphré for making this emotional moment possible.
