Mission
The human touch of the Centre de santé et de services sociaux de Memphrémagog (CSSSM)

Founded in 1984 and formerly known as La Fondation de l’Hôpital La Providence de Magog, today's Memphremagog Hospital Foundation is pursuing its mission:

The mission of the Memphremagog Hospital Foundation is to ensure a complementary source of funding to the Memphremagog CSSS so it will be able to maintain and increase the quality and diversity of services dispensed at the local level, therefore improving the well-being of its population

Governed by a committed board of directors and sustained by a devoted team of volunteers and an executive present in the community, the Foundation steps up communications, raises the awareness of policymakers and donors, strengthens bonds around CSSSM objectives, and raises funds.


Population Served by the CSSSM

The area of the MRC Memphrémagog covers 1330 km² and takes in 17 municipalities. By 2016, the population served will grow to 50,900, including 12,350 individuals age 65 or older, representing a 60% increase in the elderly compared to 2006.

Background
An Organized and Generous Foundation...

During its first 28 years (1984–2012), the Foundation helped acquire medical equipment by contributing $7 million.

A major fund-raising campaign carried out between 2004 and 2008 with a target of $3 million actually raised $3.6 million through the commitment and determination of volunteers, Center staff, policymakers, and community members.

In the wake of these exciting results, an average of $500,000 was invested annually by the Foundation to acquire specialized equipment at the cutting edge of technology and set up appropriate facilities.

The Foundation views these investments as a continuation of its mission and its work to raise public awareness of institutional needs.

Honorary Members

The Board of Directors may, by resolution, name any person as an honorary member of the Foundation. All that is asked of the person so named is that he or she accept this status and allow his or her name to be associated with the Foundation. Usually, these members are chosen because of the support they have already given to the Foundation, their reputation or their standing in the sector of activity towards which the Foundation is moving, and it is the Foundation that is honoured by their symbolic membership. All former presidents are automatically recognized as honorary members.
